For the Bank, supporting the academic growth of young adults with a dedication to their communities is a great way to give back and invest in the future of the country,” said Timothy Sawyer, CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives.
As per the press release by BML, the Scholarship Fund is a fully funded merit-based international scholarship through which recipients can select any undergraduate program in a banking and finance related area from the top 200 universities in the world.
According to BML, the highly competitive scholarship fund was open for academically meritorious students with a strong desire to contribute to the development of the local banking and finance industry after graduation. After graduation, the scholars are required to serve a specific period to the country.
The Bank launched its scholarship program in November of 2021 as the first of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the lead up to the Bank’s 40th anniversary.
