In a continued effort to empower NGOs and contribute to community development through sustainable initiatives, the Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the launch of its annual 'Bank Fund'. This initiative invites NGOs to submit proposals for projects that promote sustainability and provide social opportunities.

This year, BML will once again select five standout projects focusing on education, environment, sports, and community development. Each selected project will receive a grant of MVR 200,000.

BML has a strong history of supporting community improvement projects through its annual funding initiative. Previous recipients of the BML Community Fund have successfully developed libraries and communal areas on various islands, significantly enhancing the social infrastructure and quality of life in these communities.

As an integral part of being a sustainable and responsible business, we invest back into the communities we serve by supporting community initiatives. One significant program was the Community Fund which had provided support to a total of 100 community-led projects since 2019. The Bank Fund we launched today is a revamped initiative to provide our community organizations with even better opportunities.
BML’s CEO and Managing Director Karl Stumke

‘Bank Fund’ is opened for locally registered NGOs, charity organisations and clubs. The bank has stated that the application form and proposal should be emailed to [email protected] before 11:00 pm on 10th June 2024.
