On Wednesday, 22 March 2023, the creative community of the Maldives reached a new milestone as the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) opened the first Clay Studio.
As the Maldives does not have many spaces for creatives to explore different outlets and expressions of art, the Clay Studio, which is located on the ground floor of Raincrest Residences in Hulhumale’ is going to be an exciting new hotspot for sure.
With this opening, Maldives now officially has its first-ever ceramic arts and pottery studio, which is a form of art that includes the creation of beautiful ceramic pottery pieces which is both artistic and therapeutic for many who enjoy this art form.
While joining a session at a pottery class may feel intimidating for many, the Clay Studio offers a variety of classes for beginners to pros, letting everyone enjoy a bit of pottery and artistry in the beautiful space of the Clay Studio.
The Clay Studio has 9 different packages, catering from young kids to those who are curious about the process of pottery, creating a fun space for group activities, and date nights as well as calming sessions for friend groups or corporate companies to enjoy as a unique new experience.
The pottery sessions at the Clay Studio not only involve the art form of making beautiful ceramic pieces, but participants of the sessions also get to paint their pieces in order to make them unique to the owner.
