BML introduces Swipe to Addu City
The 100% Maldivian-developed digital wallet positions the Maldives and its fintech talent on the global digital financial landscape.

On 12 March 2026, the Bank of Maldives (BML) held a special event, introducing Swipe, the bank's digital wallet, to Addu City.
Swipe offers users access to a range of core features, including instant person-to-person transfers, fast QR payments, personalised spending insights, shareable payment links, and simplified top-ups and withdrawals.
The bank officially unveiled Swipe on 29 October 2025. The 100% Maldivian-developed digital wallet positions the Maldives and its fintech talent on the global digital financial landscape, and for Bank of Maldives, represents a significant milestone in achieving its vision of being the best digital bank in the region.
Since its launch, Swipe was also announced as the official wallet of Visit Maldives on 03 March 2026. Under this agreement, Swipe will be positioned as the premier payment solution for tourists visiting the Maldives as a convenient, secure payment solution, further enhancing the Maldives' dedication to digital innovation and premium hospitality.
