The Maldives and Belarus sign Agreement on Mutual Exemption on Visas

The Agreement provides for mutual exemption of visas for nationals of both countries and permits single-entry stays of up to 30 days, or multiple-entry stays for a cumulative period not exceeding 90 days, within one calendar year.

The Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Belarus signed the Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visas, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today. 

The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Maldives by Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus by His Excellency Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

During the discussions following the signing ceremony, Minister Iruthisham expressed her gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Belarus for its commitment towards strengthening the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and conveyed hope that the signing of this agreement will increase avenues for further engagement and people-to-people contact between the Maldives and Belarus.
