Pension Office conducted two information sessions for the students of Hanimaadhoo School, focusing on professional development and financial literacy, as part of its ongoing efforts to equip young people with practical knowledge and skills to prepare for their future careers and financial independence.
The two sessions, conducted under Pension Office's Career Compass Program and Doughnuts and Finance, focused on developing essential career skills and strengthening students' understanding of personal financial management.
The Career Compass Program was conducted for students of Grade 11, focusing on career planning, CV writing and interview preparation. The session provided practical guidance on exploring career pathways, preparing effective CVs, approaching job applications and developing the skills needed to perform confidently in interviews. Students were also introduced to the basics of retirement planning, highlighting the importance of early financial planning and developing healthy financial habits.
Additionally, Pension Office conducted the fourth session of its Doughnuts and Finance programme for 2026, bringing together over 40 students of Hanimaadhoo School for an interactive session on financial literacy. The session covered key financial concepts, including setting financial goals, budgeting, saving, investing and responsible borrowing, encouraging students to make informed financial decisions and recognise the importance of managing their money effectively from an early age.
Designed to make financial education more accessible and engaging, Doughnuts and Finance combines interactive learning with informal discussions, providing students with an opportunity to explore everyday financial concepts in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Through these two programs, Pension Office aims to support young people in preparing for their transition into the workforce while encouraging greater awareness of financial responsibility, long-term financial planning and the importance of building healthy financial habits.
The sessions form part of Pension Office's broader public awareness and education efforts to engage young people across the Maldives, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills to support their professional development, financial independence and long-term financial wellbeing.
Pension Office remains committed to expanding its educational outreach initiatives across different communities, promoting financial literacy and preparedness among young people as they navigate important stages of their personal and professional lives
