On 01 October 2026, the Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) successfully conducted the 2nd Local Runway Safety Team (LRST) Meeting of 2026.
The meeting was chaired by the company's CEO & Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.
The meeting brought together key internal and external stakeholders to review runway safety performance, ongoing infrastructure developments and initiatives to further strengthen the safety of both land and water aerodrome at Velana International Airport.
The meeting reflects MACL's continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all aerodrome activities.
