The Maldives is on track to achieve a record-breaking year for tourism, with 1.88 million tourists visiting the country as of early December 2024, according to data released by the Maldives Immigration Department. This figure surpasses last year's total of 1.87 million arrivals, highlighting continued growth in the tourism sector.

Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal described this milestone as a significant achievement, reflecting the Maldives' enduring appeal as a global travel destination. The year-end target of two million visitors remains within reach, with the holiday season expected to bring a further influx of travellers.

The increase in arrivals showcases the success of the Maldives' efforts to promote tourism and sustain its position as a top destination for international travellers.
