The Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has held a Water Aerodrome Certification Audit by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority. The three-day certification audit was commenced on 22 September 2026.
The inauguration meeting was attended by the CEO&MD of MACL, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, senior management, and MNATS representatives. This meeting marked the start of the audit covering safety, operations, emergency preparedness, infrastructure and regulatory compliance.
Upon the completion of the audit and full compliance, MACL can verify that a water aerodrome complies with the required safety, operational, infrastructure, and regulatory standards for seaplane operations. With this, the company can further ensure improved safety of flight operations, reach better compliance for the company, and strengthen operational procedures as well.
