Third batch of Maldivian pilgrims departs for Hajj with 243 travellers

A third group of Maldivian pilgrims has departed for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, with airport operations facilitated by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

A total of 243 pilgrims travelled today on a Saudia Airlines flight as part of the ongoing Hajj departure schedule. The group represents the third batch of Maldivian pilgrims leaving for the annual pilgrimage.

The journey was operated by Saudia Airlines, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, which continues to play a key role in transporting pilgrims from the Maldives to the Kingdom during the Hajj season.

Airport authorities supported the smooth departure process, ensuring coordinated handling and assistance for pilgrims as they began their journey to the holy sites.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, draws thousands of Maldivians each year who travel to Mecca for the sacred pilgrimage. The departure of successive batches reflects the ongoing organized facilitation of travel arrangements for pilgrims from the Maldives.

Officials extended prayers and well wishes for a safe journey and a spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all those participating.
