The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has officially awarded the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) the contract to construct a new Islamic center in Sh. Milandhoo. The project, which is part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to establish Islamic centers across various islands, is set to be completed within 720 days.

The signing ceremony took place on Sunday, marking a significant step in fulfilling the government's commitment to enhancing Islamic infrastructure in the Maldives. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, reiterated the administration’s dedication to strengthening religious facilities nationwide. He also announced plans to establish libraries in all Islamic centers across the country before the end of the year.

The Islamic center in Milandhoo is expected to serve as a vital hub for religious and community activities. It will provide residents with a space for prayer, education, and cultural gatherings, reinforcing the government's broader efforts to promote Islamic teachings and knowledge.

President Muizzu has made it a priority to develop Islamic centers in various islands to ensure that communities have access to well-equipped religious facilities. The project in Milandhoo is a reflection of this vision, contributing to the social and spiritual well-being of the island’s residents.
