In a move to provide more opportunities and empower peope with disabilities in the Maldives, the Maldives Zakat House and the Ministry of Social and Family Development has signed an agreement to develop an empowerment hub in Hulhumale'.

This agreement was signed by the Director General Sheikh Izzaddin Adnan on behalf of the Zakat House, and State Minister Ibrahim Ismail Ali on Behalf of the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

The agreement which spans 25 years will focus its developments on skill development, Islamic education, religious programming, and financial empowerment.

By offering structured skill development programs, the empowerment hub will provide individuals with practical tools to participate more fully in the workforce, pursue independent livelihoods, and build long-term financial stability. This is particularly crucial in a country where employment opportunities for people with disabilities remain limited and where tailored vocational training is scarce.

According to the ministry, the hub will be loated on the first floor of Amaan Udhares Tower 7, offering substantial benefits for people with disabilities.
