In a move towards developing better tourist facilities in HA. Uligam, the Maldives Government has signed an agreement with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). This agreement was signed between MTCC and Maldives Immigration in order to facilitate the development of an immigration office in the island.

Although tourists coming into the Maldives can usually get all their clearances done at the immigration counter at Velana International Airport, as one of the islands that sees a high number of yacht arrivals, it has become increasingly important to have an immigration office set up in Uligam.

The contract to develop the immigration office was signed by the Managing Director of MTCC Ahmed Saudhy and the Immigration Controller Ahmed Faseeh.
