The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission (MMBC) has formulated and published the "Code of Conduct for Broadcasters, Media Personnel and Journalists". The Code of Conduct has been developed in consultation with the media, government agencies and NGOs with the participation of all stakeholders.

- Respect the Constitution and laws of the Republic of the Maldives and its religion
- Maintain national security and safety
- Maintain social morality and public order
- Disclosure of truthful information and providing news and information in a fair and transparent manner
- Acceptance of different views and opinions on matters of public interest, as permitted by law
- Pay special care and attention to protect the rights of those in need of care and assistance in the community
- Not to disseminate news and information that directly or indirectly harms the rights of children
- Rules such as interviewing and editing standards, intellectual property rights, and sections on bringing in content using artificial intelligence are included.
