Velana International Airport (VIA) has announced the expansion of its cargo connectivity with the addition of a new route linking Malé (MLE) and Bengaluru (BLR). The service, launched in partnership with Afcom Cargo, strengthens trade ties between the Maldives and South Asia while enhancing global market access.

The new MLE–BLR cargo route is expected to play a vital role in improving the efficiency of trade flows between the Maldives and major international destinations. With Bengaluru serving as a key logistics hub in India, the route will allow smoother and faster connections from the Maldives to Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

This milestone underscores VIA’s ongoing efforts to position the Maldives as a regional cargo hub, ensuring reliable connections for trade and contributing to the growth of the country’s economy.
