The United States of America is witnessing a moment of historic significance, for better or worse, as former President Donald John Trump is sworn in once again as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025. Before his re-election in 2025 after winning the Presidential race that was hosted in 2024, Trump served as the President of America in 2016 as the nominee for the Republican Party. His core belief, even back then, was the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’. With this mindset, then and even now, some of his policies mainly centre around U.S. immigration laws, international trade deals, and a more aggressive foreign policy in the Middle East.

After dodging two different assassination attempts during the Presidential race, by November 2024 Trump was already predicted to win the U.S. Presidential race - marking a moment in time for America. While Republicans celebrated the major win for the party and its candidate, a majority of others dreaded what might come with this new era of Trump’s Presidency. For better or for worse, America and the rest of the world witnessed the inauguration of America’s 47th President, Doland John Trump on January 20th. The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Presidents as well as Vice Presidents of the country along with some of the wealthiest most influential figures such as the CEO of TikTok, Facebook, and Amazon among others. During his inaugural address, President Trump stated that this was the start of the golden age of America.

“The golden age of America begins right now. My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all these many betrayals that have taken place and give people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and indeed their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over.” 47th President of the U.S. , Dolald John Trump.

With this term's inaugural address being 29 minutes and 48 seconds, President Trump broke a new modern-day record as this was marked as the longest modern-day inaugural address. Another thing that was noted during the inauguration was the President breaking a commonly followed rile, as he did not place his hands on the bibles during the oath-taking ceremony. Although this is not a legal requirement, it is a common practice that has been followed during all past Presidential oath-taking ceremonies in the U.S. Despite the controversies and the unconventional remarks made during his inaugural speech—particularly concerning the Gulf of Mexico—Donald J. Trump has officially been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, marking the beginning of a term that promises to be as polarizing and eventful as his first.
