Allied Expatriate Plus

Aasandha only provides insurance to Maldivians, so what policy covers insurance for the expatriate workers living in the Maldives?

If you are a local living in the Maldives, one thing you might not have to worry about is the cost of going to the hospital. Most hospital visits are less expensive than they would be if we were a foreigner in the Maldives because we have access to insurance coverage from both the government and private parties. While the cost of a single hospital visit may not be a financial burden for us Maldivians living in the Maldives, we would definitely think twice before going to the hospital for a sore throat in a foreign country. Using the same logic, healthcare in the Maldives may not be affordable for the thousands of expatriates who live and work in the Maldives either.

A hospital bill with no insurance coverage can easily put anyone in unimaginable debt, no matter how long someone lives in a foreign country. While those with insurance cannot imagine the cost of the hospital visits they make, these looming bills are a reality for many who do not have access to adequate insurance coverage. It is also likely that employers are concerned when hiring foreigners because Aasandha only provides insurance to Maldivians, so what policy covers insurance for the expatriate workers living in the Maldives?

For the expatriates residing in the Maldives who are concerned about the high costs of hospital visits but are unsure where to turn for assistance, Allied expatriate plus health insurance should be the first place to look. Individuals, family groups, and even businesses can use this insurance to help reduce healthcare costs as it covers the inpatient, outpatient and repatriation costs.

The inpatient health insurance, which covers both new and pre-existing illnesses, can be used at both government and listed private medical centres for up to MVR 100,000. In addition to this, anyone covered by this policy will receive outpatient medical coverage, including consultation fees at listed medical centres up to a maximum of MVR 2,000. Moreover, the cost of repatriating mortal remains from the Maldives to his/her home country or the cost of burial within the Maldives (if death occurs within the Maldives) will be covered up to the overall limit.

All applicants need to do is fill out the proposal form with the application, which can be obtained at the online portal at myallied.mv. This procedure can be carried out by either the employer or the employees.
