On 25 September 2025, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) signed an agreement with the Maldives’ Health Ministry to develop a five-story hospital in Haa Alif atoll, Dhihdhoo.
The hospital was signed by the State Minister, Ahmed Gasim, on behalf of the Health Ministry, and the Deputy Managing Director, Ahmed Sharaf Abdul Rahman, on behalf of MTCC.
The hospital development project was signed for a total of MVR 185.6 million, with a completion date of 780 days.
Further details regarding the hospital entail that the facility will have the capacity for 50 beds, as well as the inclusion of an isolation facility, a radiology department, a waste management centre, and a laundry and oxygen plant.
