Apple has published a comprehensive list of wireless carriers and worldwide service providers that support eSIM services on iPhones and Apple Watches. Among the notable updates, the Maldives is now officially included, with Ooredoo — the international telecommunications provider operating nationwide — listed as a supported carrier. This development marks a significant step forward for digital connectivity in the Maldives, especially for users of Apple Watch with cellular capabilities.

An eSIM allows users to activate a cellular plan from their network provider without needing a physical nano-SIM card. It offers greater flexibility and convenience, allowing users to switch between plans or carriers without changing SIM cards. With the Maldives in Apple’s list, users can now take full advantage of eSIM functionality on Apple Watch. This means that Apple Watch users in the Maldives can enjoy a seamless cellular experience — making calls, sending and receiving messages, accessing apps, and receiving notifications — all without having to carry their iPhone.

To celebrate the launch of eSIM services for Apple Watch in the Maldives, Ooredoo is introducing a special promotional offer. With this offer, customers will receive six months of free Apple Watch cellular service. After the promotional period, the service will be available for just MVR200 per month, applicable to prepaid and postpaid customers.

The availability of eSIM services on Apple Watch enhances both convenience and safety for users who need to stay connected on the go, without relying on their phones being nearby.
