The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened submissions for the FinLit Fest Financial Futures Essay Competition, aimed at encouraging secondary and higher secondary school students to explore financial issues and share their ideas on building a better financial future for the Maldives.
The competition is open to students in Grades 8 to 12 across the Maldives and will be held in two categories: Junior Category for Grades 8–10 and Senior Category for Grades 11–12.
Participants can write on themes covering financial literacy and responsible money management, financial inclusion and shared prosperity, the role of youth in the future of finance, technology and digital finance, and ethical, sustainable and values-based finance.
Winners will be selected from each category, with MVR 3,000 awarded for Best Essay, MVR 2,000 for First Runner-Up and MVR 1,000 for Second Runner-Up, along with certificates.
Essays must be written in English and contain between 700 and 1,200 words. Each student may submit one original and unpublished entry responding to one of the competition themes.
