The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced the extension of the deadline to apply for the MMA Scholarship 2026. Initially, the deadline was set for 30 June 2026; however, the authority has now stated that the deadline has been extended to 15 July 2026, giving applicants an additional 15 days.
The scholarship programme offers opportunities for eligible Maldivians to pursue higher education in Malaysia in fields that support the development of the country's financial sector. Programmes available under this year's scholarship include:
Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and fulfilment of the eligibility requirements. Final awards are subject to admission approval by the respective universities.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
