Maldives Monetary Authority opens abstract submissions for research conference 2026
The theme for the research conference was announced as 'Macroeconomic and Financial Stability for Sustainable Development Amid Structural and Global Transitions'.
On 20 April 2026, the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) announced that the MMA Research Conference 2026 is now accepting abstracts.
The theme for the research conference was announced as 'Macroeconomic and Financial Stability for Sustainable Development Amid Structural and Global Transitions'.
The third annual edition of the conference focuses on the role of macroeconomic and financial stability in underpinning sustainable development, amid structural transitions and global uncertainties facing the Maldivian economy.
As the Maldives navigates a complex and evolving economic landscape, marked by exposure to external shocks, climate-related risks, fiscal and debt pressures, the digital transformation of finance, and the imperative for inclusive growth, it is critical to explore how monetary policy, financial regulation, and structural reforms can jointly support stability and enable long-term development. The conference provides a platform for research that informs policy and contributes to a more resilient and forward-looking Maldivian economy.
MMA
