The Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced WhatsApp as an official channel for One-Time Passwords (OTP) for transactions. This will allow customers to receive OTPs securely via WhatsApp to their registered mobile number, enhancing customer convenience. 

The addition of WhatsApp as an OTP channel complements the existing options of using SMS via registered mobile number, Authenticator and Email, offering customers greater flexibility when conducting transactions.

Customers can opt to receive OTPs through WhatsApp by updating their preferences via Internet or Banking App. The process remains highly secure, and customers will be required to use an existing OTP channel to enable WhatsApp.
