The Bank of Maldives (BML) announced the donation of 30 additional wheelchairs, marking the continuation of its annual initiative to support people with mobility impairments across the country.
With this latest contribution, the program has successfully delivered over 360 wheelchairs to individuals living in more than 105 islands since its inception in 2017. This year, the Bank has strategically expanded the scope of the program to ensure inclusivity for a broader range of needs. In addition to motorized wheelchairs designed for individuals who can operate them independently, BML has introduced specialized manual wheelchairs. These new additions are specifically tailored for children and adults who rely on caregivers and family members for their daily mobility.
The initiative reflects BML's ongoing commitment to investing in community health and corporate social responsibility, enhancing the quality of life and independence for ultimate beneficiaries and their families.
