MMA announces the Maldives financial expo & Maldives financial sector awards

 As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen and develop the financial sector, the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) is organising the Maldives Financial Expo, scheduled to be held from 2 to 4 July this year. The primary objective of the Expo is to enhance financial inclusion by raising public awareness and promoting financial literacy. The event will also serve as a centralised platform that brings together financial service providers and the public, enabling direct engagement, easy access to information, and streamlined delivery of financial services. The Expo, to be held at Hulhumalé Central Park, will offer the public a convenient one-stop opportunity to interact with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities. Participating institutions will also use the platform to officially launch and showcase their latest financial products, services, and initiatives.

Maldives Financial Sector Awards

The Maldives Monetary Authority is set to introduce the Maldives Financial Sector Awards to celebrate and recognise the significant achievements and contributions of licensed financial institutions toward the growth and development of the Maldivian financial sector. The primary objective of these awards is to promote the development of a more inclusive, efficient, and consumer-centric financial sector that effectively meets the diverse needs of the public. The awards also aim to promote high standards of service quality, innovation, and healthy competition within the industry. 

The awards will focus on MMA’s key strategic priorities, including financial inclusion, financial literacy, digital finance, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) finance, and green and sustainable finance. A total of seven awards will be presented. Nominations for the awards are now open, and the winners will be announced at a special ceremony on 1 July.
