The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced a new organisational structure designed to strengthen accountability, simplify the customer journey, and align the Bank more closely with its long-term strategy of sustainable growth, deeper customer relationships, and elevated service standards.

As part of this restructuring, four members of the executive team have taken up adjacent roles for an initial period of six months:

· Aishath Zamra Zahir — Chief Commercial Officer

· Moosa Nimal — Chief Marketing Officer

· Rashfa Jaufar — Chief Risk Officer

· Gary Laughton — Chief Credit Officer

These changes are about growth. The Bank is in a strong position, and we're organising ourselves to serve customers better and grow faster. The temporary rotation of executive roles is a deliberate investment in leadership depth, giving experienced leaders direct exposure to an adjacent discipline, which strengthens both the individual and the institution. It reflects our confidence in this team and our ongoing commitment to developing Maldivian leadership at every level.
CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef

This restructuring reflects Bank of Maldives' ongoing commitment to strengthening its organisation, investing in its people and capabilities, and delivering sustainable growth while raising the standard of service for its customers. These changes are internal and will not affect customers' accounts, products, services, or existing points of contact.

The new structure takes effect from 4th August 2026, following approval by the Board of Directors.
